Our Classes
Regardless of age, sex, and experience/skill levels, everyone is welcome to attend most of our classes. Classes are designed to challenge the individual to grow, regardless of starting point. A few of our “more advanced” offerings may require a certain “base” before attending.
Our home range is in Jacksonville, TX. We also provide training across the U.S. Make sure to check the “Travel Classes” section of the “Training Schedule” tab to see if/when we’ll be near you. If you don’t see anything in your neighborhood, and you’re interested in hosting a class at your range (or a range you have a relationship with) please use the contact form below to set up a class in your backyard.
Who Is LCAR?
In short, it is YOU!!! The training we seek should be driven by our individual needs. As a Lone Civilian Armed Responder, you have vastly different circumstances and needs than Law Enforcement or Military. Everything LCAR Concepts teaches is based around making the individual person capable of handling and prevailing in whatever situation they find themselves.
Protection of ourselves & those around us, and returning home to our loved ones are what drive us. Our mission is to help others as we walk this path of improvement together!
Becoming LCAR
We work daily on improving ourselves across multiple areas related to our goal of becoming better able to handle violent encounters. The “Becoming LCAR” tab is where we will put resources that will help you on your journey down that path alongside us. It also serves as a “behind the scenes” look at what is going on with LCAR Concepts between classes.

2-Day Course centered around the use of a pistol mounted optic in the context of lethal encounters. I believe pistol optics can offer us certain advantages This class is focused on being fight effective, and NOT about improving your ranking in competitions.

This class is for all levels of optic users, and focuses on nuances of application of the sighting system. A certain level of marksmanship ability is required as a prerequisite to get the most out of this class. Optics do not make us better/ more accurate shooters, they simply change the way we aim.
If your shooting ability needs a lot of work, we will be able to improve it some (but time is limited). Know that this class concentrates on “aiming” above “hitting” what is aimed at.Trust the process, and if more shooting help is needed we can recommend other classes or instructors for that work. You will still benefit from this class, but those with solid marksmanship will get the most.
Technology continues to improve, and I believe that pistol optics allow us to simplify certain shooting problems, extend effective range of our pistol, and aim more precisely. However, it’s use comes as a double edged sword with a new learning curve. This course will shorten that learning curve for you, while also pointing out some things that no other “dot” classes, that we know of, do.
(Most notably: The fact that a Circle Only reticle can be more effective than a dot. We will also address the fact that there are some negatives of optics, when compared to using irons, that must be overcome in certain fighting contexts.)
You will learn how to “find the dot (reticle)”, use it to take advantage of target focused shooting in a fight, use it as a diagnostic tool to improve your shooting ability, and much more.
This Class is being Offered:
Date: Confirm you are selecting correct date from drop down menu before adding cart
Time: Plan to be on range from 8a-5p each day (However, day 2 typically ends slightly earlier)
Range: Fort Honey Badger, Jacksonville TX (Contact for Directions, they will also be sent via email after signup.
Lodging: Contact directly for discount link to local La Quinta hotel or to reserve spot at the “Team Room”
Cost: $600
Gear: Open mind, Notebook, Pistol with Optic, holster, 4 mags, eye & ear protection (loaners avail, pls contact asap) approx. 700rds of ammo, water, rain gear, etc
